Andris found himself growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah of all places and spent most of his early years with cartoons, role playing games, legos, and of course sketchbooks. Early exposure to the alien landsacpes of southern Utah while camping, and the awesome emptiness of the Salt Flats inspired him to see more of the world. Nearly a decade and about a dozen countries later he found himself in Germany working only to travel. Seeking something more permanent, two years later he found himself at the edge of western civlization studying Illustration in San Francisco.
He graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University.
He now lives with his wife in Woodland, California where she studies verterinary medicine and he finds new ways to battle with the cat and the amorphous foe Illustration.
